Getting Started

How do I create an account?

Click "Sign Up" in the top right corner, enter your email and phone number, then verify your BVN and upload a government-issued ID. The process takes less than 5 minutes.

What documents do I need for verification?

You'll need a valid BVN (Bank Verification Number) and one of the following: National ID, International Passport, or Driver's License.

Is Payburse free to use?

Creating an account is completely free. We only charge a small fee (1.5%-2%) when you complete a transaction. No monthly fees, no hidden charges.

Escrow Transactions

How does escrow work?

The buyer deposits money with Payburse. The seller delivers the item. The buyer inspects and approves. We release the money to the seller. Simple and safe.

How long is the inspection period?

The default inspection period is 3 days, but you can set it anywhere from 1 to 30 days when creating the escrow.

What happens if there's a dispute?

Both parties can submit evidence. Our team reviews the case and makes a final decision within 5-7 business days. The decision is binding.

Payments & Fees

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Nigerian debit/credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Verve), bank transfers, and USSD payments.

How much do you charge?

Escrow: 1.5% (min ₦100). Store orders: 2% (min ₦50). PayMe links: 1%. Bank payouts: ₦50. See our pricing page for details.

How long do withdrawals take?

Withdrawals to Nigerian bank accounts are instant during business hours (9AM-5PM). After hours, they process the next business day.

Security & Privacy

Is my money safe with Payburse?

Yes. We're licensed by the CBN, use bank-grade encryption, and your funds are insured up to ₦500,000 by NDIC.

Do you sell my data?

Never. We don't sell or share your personal data with advertisers. We only use it to provide our service and comply with regulations.

How do I enable two-factor authentication?

Go to Settings → Security → Two-Factor Authentication. You can use SMS or an authenticator app like Google Authenticator.
